Brilliant.just as everything seemed right.seemed like everything was gonna be okay again.then they had to be the wet blanket.they had to be.
Today, the cheques were in.we had 37 ppl.and 3 more were coming in tomorrow.37+3=40.so we had 40 ppl.we reached miss lim’s previous expectations.today she told us that she would make do with 35++.so actually we had already exceeded her expectations.we thought we had it going.we thought we could finally go.to xiamen.for choir olympics.THEN.our dear teachers-in-charge (TIC) came in.they went like,"our final decision is NOT to let you go to xiamen for choir olympics." Astonished, we ask them why.they go,”the numbers are not enough.” Surprised,we inform them that miss lim already agreed to take us there even if we only have 35 people.they say that people might pull out.which is actually not very likely because who would be so stupid as to pull out and lose the $600 deposit?$600’s a huge sum to us poor people you know?then they go on about risks and stuff.that we never know what might happen.but if you think of it LOGICALLY, I stress, LOGICALLY,it is rather impossible that more that 5 people from a group of 40 (which is like 1/8) get injured in car accidents over a period of 5 months or so.we explain to them patiently about passion, our enthusiasm, and stuff like that.and the stuff we have at stake if we don’t go to xiamen.i mean if u think about the risks if we decide to go then we should also consider the risks if we do not go.miss lim has threatened that if we do not go she might drop us as she wants to drop one SSAA choir and we’re the only one of the 3 that has not yet confirmed if we’re going overseas.all her choirs are going overseas.except us,maybe.also, she said that she’ll never organize anymore trips overseas if we don’t go.with so much at stake, and our burning passion to go,we held a "dialogue" session with our TICs.which obviously was very one-sided cos anything we said got the same response."the numbers are not enough." I mean what crap is that la.we tried to persuade them for one hour, and as a result were released one hour late from choir.still after our begging and pleading, the answer was still the same. "the numbers are not enough." in the end they + us did not come to a definite decision.
nychoir burns with passion, passion for singing, and we will fight for what is rightfully ours.
Singing is a passion.if you do not have the passion for singing, you should not join choir.passion is what overflows in our hearts.and gives us the voices of angels.voices to move people, touch hearts, produce tears.and that is the passion that burns within us.the passion that drives us.the passion that makes us fight so hard for our right to go to xiamen.
A PASSION.
I have a lang arts paper tomorrow and I don’t know what’s going to be tested.laugh,everyone.the history paper today was quite okay,I guess.i think I can at least pass.
